Successful adoption stories.

BAILEY

He is the MOST laid back dog and what a doll. Most of these pictures show him sleeping or laying down, but we wanted you to see what a KING he really is. He has 3 couches and 6 pillows ... along with 2 beds he shares when people are in them. He really is in his glory. Bob and I are retired as of Wednesday, January 2nd .. so we plan on exercising him and us and as soon as the weather turns warmer, we're going to get a pass to the dog park and take him daily. He just loves going there ... problem is he could care less about the dogs, he loves people and will just go from one to another and go on a walk with ANYONE. What a loveable little critter. I swear our daughter just comes home from college to see him. They have a really good time running all over the house with Bailey doing the chasing ... barking and just all around having fun. He is wonderful with our three grandsons, ages 4 and twins at 1. He will let them do anything to him and will NEVER growl. If he gets p***ed ... he just gets up and walks away. He never chews, digs or anything bad. This dog LOVES to go to the vet. He RUNS in and will NOT stop barking until Dr. Unger comes out to see him and love him up. They are really good buddies. Forget all the other animals there .... he just loves the people.

So enjoy the bunches of pictures as much as we enjoy our boy. Thank you again and again and again. He is such the bright spot in our lives. We looked so very forward to our retirement just to spend the days with him. We do not travel ... we love being home. We do not even enjoy going out for dinner. We prefer to pick it up and bring it home and eat it while Bailey chews on one of his chews. We even bought a doggie door so that the KING can come in and out at will on the days when we're home. We have a 6' stockade fence around the back yard with gates that we keep locked. It truly is HIS domain. He has 2 squirrel friends that come into the back yard and up on the deck, waiting for him to come out to chase them up a tree. This past summer he caught 3 chipmunks and 2 moles. He just can't figure out why he tries to squeak them and then their squeaker breaks after only ONE squeak.

God Bless you and the work that you all do at the clinic. We can only hope that you make tons of families as happy as you have made us. It's hard to believe that in February, we will have had him two years. What a joy he is.

Thanks again,
Robert, Joline, Kristen and Bailey

Kelly

There are times for love, times for work, and times for play. And Kelly enjoys them all. She also enjoys boating and flying in her private plane, though swimming isn’t her ‘thing’. She’s earned her Canine Good Citizen status, and is learning agility.

Missy

has been with us about a year now. She took awhile to adjust to living as a pet after her research career with NAVC but she has discovered the upside to being a pamper house dog: An older dog to help guide her in living with humans, cats who don’t eat all their food, dog pillows, poolside lounging, chewies, and food. She is the most food reward motivated dog we’ve ever had. She sings to us regularly although she can’t carry a tune. Missy helped our older dog lose weight by increasing the length of his walks and getting him to play more. She gets along well with all our other pets. If anyone is considering adopting an NAVC dog I can say it has worked out very well for Missy and us.
